CBD

What is CBD oil?

CBD is short for cannabidiol. It is a mighty phytocannabinoid found in hemp and known for supporting the body and mind in various ways. CBD specifically, comes from the flowers and leaves of the hemp plant. (Not to be confused with hemp seed oil that comes from hemp seeds and contains no cannabinoids.)

Why it works: The human body has a vast network of receptors, called the Endocannabinoid System (ECS), which helps us maintain overall wellness and keeps many of our physical processes moving in the right direction. CBD works with those receptors, helping to keep us in good health.

What are cannabinoids?

Cannabinoids are a group of fatty compounds found in hemp but also produced by other plants and the human body. They are the primary chemical compounds produced by the cannabis plant.

How Does CBD Work?

CBD works to help maintain our bodies’ homeostasis. Homeostasis is a healthy state of balance and internal stability against outside or unknown factors that would otherwise disrupt how the human body would typically perform.

And contrary to THC, CBD works as a non-intoxicating compound with none of the psychoactive effects commonly associated with THC.

YOU CANNOT EXPERIENCE A “HIGH” OR ANY OTHER ASSOCIATED PSYCHOACTIVE FEELING WITH HEMP-BASED CBD.

How is CBD Absorbed?

CBD works optimally when absorbed into the bloodstream, where it can interact with the endocannabinoid system (ECS). Our ECS is a network of cannabinoid receptors that stretch throughout the entire body. There are two types of cannabinoid receptors – CB1 and CB2. CB1 receptors help regulate many functions related to our central nervous system, while CB2 receptors manage the abilities associated with our peripheral nervous system.

CBD molecules usually bind to CB2 receptors, while THC binds to CB1 receptors. When these cannabinoids attach to these connectors, they transmit signals that travel through the cells – ultimately affecting the cells that surround tissue, the tissues inside an organ, and the many organs of the body. And though CBD usually attaches to CB2 connectors, it can also grasp CB1 receptors – acting as a blockade against other molecules.

Your body’s absorption of CBD from the application area into the bloodstream is known as its “bioavailability” – maximizing bioavailability means allowing more CBD to be readily available for bodily use.

TAKING CBD THROUGH VARIOUS MEANS CHANGES ITS BIOAVAILABILITY; HOWEVER, CHOOSING THE BEST METHOD OF USE FOR YOUR NEEDS WILL HELP ENSURE THAT YOU’LL RECEIVE THE MOST SUPPORT FROM PROPERLY SOURCED CBD.

Will FlexCBD products cause me to fail a drug test?

Much like the consumption of poppy seeds may lead to a positive drug test for opioids, the consumption of certain hemp products may lead to a positive drug test for tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). THC is inherently present in trace amounts in hemp plants. The legal limit of THC in hemp is no more than 0.3%.

Furthermore, the underlying science behind the conversion of certain cannabinoids, for example cannabidiol (CBD), when consumed, to other related cannabinoids, like THC, is not yet fully understood. Although the risk is low, individual biochemistry, the possibility of conversion of cannabinoids, and the possibility of trace, but legal, amounts of THC inherent in hemp products, we strongly suggest consulting your healthcare provider before consuming any hemp products if you are subject to drug testing.

What is the Endocannabinoid System (ECS)?

CBD oil provides numerous potential benefits because of the way it is introduced and consumed within the body. We naturally produce endocannabinoids that have receptors all over our bodies. This is part of a larger endocannabinoid system – otherwise known as the ECS for short – made up of cannabinoid receptors and endocannabinoid neurotransmitters that help maintain homeostasis and balance our bodily functions. When you’re feeling at your best, whether it’s just overall wellness or better clarity through the fog of everyday life, the endocannabinoid system is responsible for kicking into action and ensuring that your body stays on track.

When you consume CBD oils, those cannabinoids bind to the CB-1 and CB-2 receptors in our brain and body. When these different cannabinoids interact with each other, they produce varying effects more powerful than if they were acting alone, known as the entourage effect. That means the ECS and CBD combined offer even more potential benefits of CBD oil to promote a better, healthier balance.

How do I use CBD oil?

Using CBD oil will vary depending on your purpose for taking it. CBD for pain and soreness will require applying a topical cream to the problem area and rubbing it into the skin. In contrast, CBD for sleep requires taking a tincture. The most common and easy way to use CBD oil is with tinctures, which is the optimal application for how to use CBD oil for anxiety and stress:

⦁ Squeeze dropper to fill with oil.

⦁ Squeeze oil under your tongue and hold it for 30 to 60 seconds for absorption and then swallow.

⦁ Increase your amount or concentration gradually as needed.

⦁ Store at room temperature out of direct sunlight.

It is essential to remember that consistency is vital to receive the most benefits from CBD oil. It’s best to continue taking CBD for at least 30 days to achieve optimum results; but this is just the beginning – find a regimen, product, and concentration that works best for your everyday routine. When determining how to take CBD oil, there are several factors that need to be considered.

Is CBD use common?

Ancient civilizations have used various strains of cannabis throughout the centuries for their wealth of wellness properties. But due to dramatic shifts in legislation and other influences such as determining what is the difference between CBD and THC, cannabinoids became widely unaccepted as an alternative application.

However, as the health and science communities continue to further recognize and accept the properties of different cannabinoids, the prohibitions that once restricted and limited the use of CBD have evolved into protections and freedoms of what is CBD for anyone looking for safe and effective alternatives.

THANKS TO THE 2018 FARM BILL, THE OPPORTUNITY FOR HEMP-DERIVED PRODUCTS, SUCH AS CBD, TO BECOME MORE WIDELY ACCEPTED HAS GREATLY INCREASED.

How should I use the dropper when taking the Tincture?

FlexCBD tincture comes with a dropper for easy use. Keeping the dropper clean and void of any bacteria is essential for your health and the preservation of the hemp extract. If you choose to use the dropper for oral application of our hemp extracts, take special care to keep it from coming into contact with your mouth. It is recommended that you clean the dropper after each use with an alcohol swab to ensure proper storage.

How do I care for my product?

Always keep all CBD products out of direct sunlight and away from hot environments. This is due to CBD not doing well with excessive heat and can diminish the potency of your product.

Cream: Keep out of sunlight. That’s it!

Spray: Care instructions for the spray are very simple. Shake the can before use. Every so often you may need to clean the spray nozzle with a q-tip due to residual product drying on the spray nozzle. Nozzle may turn brown and that is completely normal, just wipe it off as needed. Other than that you are good to go!

Tincture: Keep tincture bottles out of sunlight. Keep dropper out of mouth when applying to prevent bacteria from mouth entering tincture bottle when dropper is placed back in bottle. You may want to wash the dropper after each use or periodically to maintain cleanliness.

Will FlexCBD creams separate?

We understand that some people may feel hesitant to purchase CBD creams due to past experiences with product separation. Our creams have been meticulously formulated to have a longer shelf life compared to other brands, but it's essential to consider a few factors. Storing a tube in the car or exposing it to direct sunlight can accelerate the separation process, as CBD is sensitive to UV light. While you may notice slight separation months after unsealing the product, this is entirely normal and does not affect its potency or effectiveness. In fact, as a customer, you may not even notice it. We are dedicated to ensuring every aspect of our products is perfect, which is why we closely monitor and take note of any changes. However, it's worth noting that slight separation can occur over time, so we recommend shaking the product before use. Remember to keep FlexCBD products out of direct sunlight to avoid speeding up this process.

Do you offer extended warranties?

Sorry we do not offer extended warranties on CBD products.

Cream has a slightly yellowish color after several months.

Over time, our cream may develop a slight yellowish tint due to the high concentration of CBD. This occurrence is normal and does not impact the product's efficacy. It typically happens after an opened tube has been stored for several months. Oxidation is a natural process that can affect cosmetic products, depending on their ingredients. Rest assured, the quality and effectiveness of our cream remain unchanged.
